MHPS Board

The Mount Hawthorn Primary School Board is the peak governance body for our school. The Board takes part in establishing and reviewing the school’s objectives, priorities and policy directions, and evaluates the school’s performance in achieving them.

The Board meets four times a year and consists of 11 members:

The Board functions within its Terms of Reference, which are compliant with the School Education Act (1999) and School Education Regulations (2000) and abides by its Code of Conduct.

P&C Association

Our P&C is a voluntary organisation that provides an opportunity for parents to have a voice and participate in the education of their children. With the support of many volunteers from the school community, the P&C coordinates events and services for our children, including the school canteen and uniform shop. Funds raised by the P&C contribute to the funding of programs and facilities within the school, which makes for a better educational experience for our kids.

The P&C holds its AGM in Term 1 each year, and subsequent general meetings each term thereafter.

Mount Hawthorn Primary School acknowledges the Wadjak Noongar people as the past and present traditional custodians of this land on which our school is built, and we respectfully recognise their contribution and ongoing cultural connection to this region. We celebrate the significant contributions Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples make to our shared country through their knowledge, resilience and bravery.

Our school has a progressive Reconciliation Action Committee, which is committed to reconciliation through deeply connecting with the cultures, languages, practices and stories of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students, families and peoples within the wider community.

Out of School Care

Our out of school care partner TheirCare provides before-school, after-school and vacation care on our school site. TheirCare provide a stimulating & safe environment where children develop life skills, friendships, confidence, and creativity. For more information you can call their support office on 1300 072 410, or simply drop into the Undercroft near the TigerTurf before or after school.
