The Mount Hawthorn Schools Board is a joint board and was established in 2012 following Mount Hawthorn Primary School and the Mount Hawthorn Education Support Centre gaining the status of Independent Public Schools.
The Schools Board is governed by the School Education Act 1999 and by it’s “Terms of Reference“. Board members are also required to observe the Board’s “Code of Conduct“.
The Board’s role is required to help the Schools deliver a quality education experience to our children by:
The Board holds meetings throughout the year which are generally open to the public. Annually, the Board will specifically advertise at least one of its meetings as open. The Board warmly welcomes community feedback and comments.
Do you know of someone who has made an outstanding contribution to our school? If so, please consider nominating them for a Board Commendation. The Commendation Scheme recognises exceptional, outstanding or meritorious service that significantly benefits the school. A Board Commendation can be awarded to individuals or groups of parents, members of the community or staff. Generally, the contributions of parents are recognised in the year that their youngest child completes Year 6 and the family exits the MHPS community.
You can nominate someone for consideration for a Board Commendation at any time using the Commendation nomination form, which can be downloaded below. Nomination forms can be emailed to Julia Wilcox at julia.k.wilcox@gmail.com or handed into the School Office.
