We recognise the importance of developing partnerships with the students, staff and school community.
We recognise the importance of developing partnerships with the students, staff and school community.
Our P&C is a voluntary organisation and is your opportunity to have a voice and participate in the education of your children. With the support of many volunteers from the school community, the P&C provides amenities and services for our children, and the income from your voluntary contributions and from other fund-raising activities is used to enhance the facilities and learning environment of the school.
The P&C holds regular General Meetings throughout the year.
The P&C runs many services for the school, including:
The P&C works with the Principal and Schools Board to develop a long-term ‘campus plan’ for the school that will assist in making decisions about forward planning for the schools.
There are many ways to get involved with the P&C. New faces are always welcome and any contribution that can be made will be much appreciated.
The Fundraising Sub-Committee undertakes a number of projects throughout the school year to raise funds for the P&C. Some of these projects such as the school disco provide a social balance to the revenue raising.
The Sub-Committee manages a large number of volunteers and helpers for the larger projects – such as the School Disco which relies on at least 40 parent helpers on the night.
The objective of the MHPS P&C Association Grounds and Gardens Committee is to assist the school’s administration in providing a high quality, interesting and welcoming campus that offers educational and recreational benefits to the students as well as the surrounding community. The Grounds Committee is guided by the principles of School Community Development and will work together with the school to improve and maintain the value of the grounds assets through sustainable outcome.
The music committee was formed in 2019 to provide support for the Mount Hawthorn Area Band which comprises year 5 and 6 music students from Mount Hawthorn, Kyilla, Jolimont and Maylands Peninsula Primary schools. The committee works closely with the Mount Hawthorn Music Teacher Specialist and the Band Conductor. The committee roles and responsibilities are to provide liaison and logistical support between these schools, students and parents including weekly rehearsals and occasional tours and concerts. Parents on the music committee are rewarded with the opportunity to regularly hear the constantly improving talents of our young musicians.
All music parents are welcome to join the committee. If you have any queries please email Mhpspc.musiccommittee@gmail.com
