Today Menzies Park was filled with excitement with our Annual Lapathon. 🧮 🚶♀️🚶🚶♂️Each student raised money for the ongoing maintenance of our school oval by completing as many laps of Menzies as they can. This year Interschool Athletics Carnival consisted of a 2-day program for 5 schools in the West Coast Region, Wembley, Mount Hawthorn, Floreat, Subiaco and Karrinyup Primary. 🖐Day 1 consisted of 3 events for Year 3 - Year 6 students: Long Jump, Vortex/Turbo Javelin Throw and Distance Run (400m and 800m). Mount Hawthorn participated very well in this carnival which was held at Wembley Primary School. 🏃♀️🏃🏃♂️Day 2 consisted of flat races, team games and relays and involved students from Year 1 through to Year 6. We had wonderful weather, and the atmosphere was amazing. Congratulations to our Year 6 students who led our team extremely well, and team captains Jasmine S and Kieran C. 🏁🥏🤝Results: 🏆🥉Championship Shield:1. Wembley PS 2. Floreat PS 3. Year 5s went back in time to the 19th century with a tour of Fremantle. 🕰✨🔭Visiting the Convict Establishment was an eye-opening experience which was rewarded with a picnic of Cicerellos.
