I would like to thank our students, staff and families for their cooperation in the last week. The move into Level 2 High Caseload setting has been relatively smooth for us and I’m thankful that our school community remains safe and healthy. I had some fun this morning with Mrs Burton’s Year 6 class and made my own smile on my mask along with all of the other students. An awesome idea and a great way to start the day.
We were fortunate enough to steal a little bit of our Local member’s time last Friday to visit with our Student Councillors. Mr Carey was able to share his leadership journey and insights into the attributes of a good leader.
Our thanks to parents for your support with this. We want to reassure you that we will manage this in the most proactive manner possible. To help provide some respite for students, staff will ensure they have Crunch n Sip during class time. The wearing of masks for lengthy periods, particularly for the younger years, may be a bit difficult in the early days so we have encouraged staff to provide a quick mask break by going outside. Some parents have asked about recess and lunch breaks while in the playground. If their activity is passive i.e. sitting outside library and reading, we would encourage mask wearing, but if students are actively playing, there is no need for a mask.

Please don’t hesitate to contact the school if you require support for your child’s wellbeing.
A reminder that the school has a School mobile (Smart Watch) policy in place MOBILE PHONE/DEVICE POLICY
This dovetails with school devices policy. We have had a few breaches, so we would appreciate all parents having a chat to your child about this. Class teachers will also be reminding students.
Please remember dogs are not permitted on the school site. If you choose to leave your dog tied up while you come on school site to collect your child, please ensure it is not at any entry or exit points. We have quite a few students who are scared of dogs.

A new updated Visual Images and Student Work Publication Permission Form has been shared with all parents. Thank you to those parents who have already returned the forms, if not please return the completed FORM with a YES or NO response ASAP. *This is especially important if you wish to withdraw previously given consent.
Our Faction swimming carnival for students in Year 4 – 6 will be held on Tuesday 8 March. Due to COVID restrictions for the venue, there will be no spectators permitted, other than parents or guardians.
We would like to say a special thank you to Sasha G for doing a fabulous job drawing and designing the cover page for this year’s Faction Swimming Carnival program. Sasha wasn’t given a great deal of notice but managed to put together a fantastic cover that displays all the necessary details to make our program look good. Thank you Sasha!

If you do have genuine reasons why you can’t order online, please email us at mhps.uniforms@gmail.com and we will try our best to help.
