MHPS Celebrates NAIDOC Week

Term 3

On Friday 23 July our school had some special guests perform for us, Gina Williams and Guy Ghouse. They performed some of their original Noongar songs. Their mission is to teach people about the Noongar culture through songs and music. Both of them are Noongar.

We all loved watching and listening to Gina sing and were incredibly fascinated by Guy’s incredible acoustic guitar playing. Everyone was involved in learning the word “Yay” in Noongar (Woolah) and Auslan. We would all welcome this dynamic duo to come back to perform at our school. To them and their mission we say, “Woolah!”
