This morning our whole school, including representatives from the community, gathered together for the first time in a while, to recognise the sacrifice of Australia’s servicemen and women. Our ANZAC Day Ceremony led by our students, was a chance to pause and reflect on their contribution and share our pride in their service. Our children, parents, teachers and special guests acknowledged the ANZAC spirit and remembered those who have lost their lives in conflicts around the world.
Lest We Forget
My great grandfather was in World War 2, he was in the Airforce.
These are his medals.
I feel very proud to wear them for ANZAC Day and when I tell his story because he was a good pilot.

REMINDERS FOR PARENTS
Please do not to park in the staff car parks. This is unsafe for students when walking through the car parks to go into school.
There is a Bike compound at the entry to Pre-primary from Scarborough Beach Road under the footbridge. The compound is locked each day during school hours, however we also recommend the use of bike locks on all bikes as an added level of security.
Thank you all for signing up for Connect. It is great to see so many parents connected and using the platform to engage with the classroom teachers.
To support parents in managing connect notifications here is an information page from the connect help book to assist in turning off notifications of responses. We ask that you do not turn off notifications completely as this will impact you being notified in a timely manner of notices from both the classroom teacher and the school.
If you are still not using Connect and need the sign up email resent, please contact the school via email or phone for assistance.
Thank you, Kaye Hayes ICT Curriculum Coordinator
SOCIAL MEDIA USE
This is a timely reminder to parents/carers not to share any images on social media that include any of our students, as not all parents have provided permission for their child’s image or name to be published. Any sharing of a student’s image or name without the appropriate consent could lead to legal action.
At Mount Hawthorn Primary School we are committed to not only developing and nurturing positive relationships with parents but also providing opportunities to enhance parental involvement in our fabulous school community. This not only strengthens our community relationships further but utilizes the extensive expertise of our parents ensuring greater outcomes for our students.
The SchooLINK6016 initiative establishes a supportive ecosystem that interconnects school, students, parents and community. Parents (Grandparents too) can register their details to clarify ways in which they can assist the school. The short questionnaire is designed to identify skills that you have which we will benefit from. While not limited to, it is particularly helpful to parents who work, but want to still be involved in the school or parents who are not sure how they can help. Please click on this link schooLINK6016 to find out more and register your willingness to assist
