It seems a lot longer than a nine week term, which was actually eight weeks!
It was a pleasure to present Leadership Badges to the Councillors and Faction Captains, who have been leading the school superbly since they were elected by their peers.
The P&C and Schools Board have also been very active this term and hopefully the brick pavers and trees will be in situ in Killarney Street soon. It has been so pleasing to see parents on campus again and the Week 6 School Open Week will continue into next term.
I have really enjoyed visiting classrooms throughout the term and observing the engagement students have in their learning environment. The classrooms are full of very high standard student work.
As this is the final newsletter of the term I would like to wish all families a wonderful break and look forward to Term 2 commencing on Monday 19 April, and a long overdue Dockers revival (maybe).
To create a safe environment for students using Killarney Street we ask all parents/carers to adhere to our Kiss & Ride procedures attached.
The Pre-primary and Year 1 students have just completed a 6 week gymnastics program in Physical Education classes. This has been a fantastic program, the students have developed their fundamental movement skills while experiencing a variety of activities.
Thank you to the coaches from Northern Districts Gymnastics Club for providing this program supporting the Junior Physical Education Curriculum.

Scholastic BookClub will be back for Term 2! Look out for the catalogue which will come home with your child next term.
To assist us with distribution of the books throughout the year, we are asking for donations of re-usable bags. If you have some to spare, please ask your child to drop them off to Julie in the library. Thanks in advance!
Cupcake Stall and Democracy Sausage Sizzle – A very big thank you to all who came down to support this iconic event. A special thank you to the 30 odd volunteers that donated their baking skills, time and efforts to this day. We wouldn’t be the amazing school and community we are, without our people. So again a huge thankyou and a big pat on the back – we SOLD OUT!! 500 Democracy Sausages and countless morsels of deliciousness!
We love volunteers and there are always ways to help. To find out more join us at the next P&C General Meeting Monday 3 May 7:15pm in the library or email mhpspc@gmail.com .
The uniform shop will closed on the last Tuesday of term, Tuesday 30 March, for stocktake. Never fear, all Qkr! orders provided before Tuesday will still processed and delivered as usual.
We have had word from the suppliers that our personalised bricks for the Killarney Street project are currently being printed and should be with us by the end of April. Thank you for your support with this fundraiser, it was a great success and we look forward to sharing our new beautifully tree lined ‘walk of fame’ with you soon.
If you have ordered Hot Cross buns, please remember to collect them from outside the school undercover area on Tuesday 30 March between 8.15am and 9.00am. If you have multiple to collect it may be worth bringing your own bag since we will not have access to any. Should you be unable to collect them, you can either a) have a friend collect them for you b) ask your child to collect them c) email mhpspc.events@gmail.com and we can leave them at your classroom.
The Mountain Goats have lots planned for 2021 and as always we love to see new families getting involved. To keep up to date follow us on Facebook or drop us a line on mhpsmountaingoats@gmail.com to get involved or join our mailing list.
