I am delighted to confirm that Mr. Dale Mackesey will be our principal next year and into the foreseeable future!
In Term 4, the MHPS Principal position was advertised and candidates invited to apply. A rigorous, transparent evaluation process was conducted in which applicants outlined their vision, capability and performance record.
Mr. Mackesey impressed the panel as an exemplary leader who is best positioned to further the aspirations of the school.
I congratulate Mr Mackesey on this Level 6 appointment, and value his commitment to fostering opportunity and choice for MHPS students.

Could all band, orchestra and choir shirts please be returned ASAP to the office (band) and music room (orchestra and choir).
On Wednesday 2 December, we held our Music Under the Stars (aka fairy lights) to showcase the amazingly talented music students from Mt Hawthorn Primary School, including the band students from Kyilla, Jolimont and Maylands-Peninsula Primary Schools.
We heard from our younger strings stars, Year 6 cello stars, orchestra, choir, percussion, brass and band. The amount of progress our students have made over the year is a testament to their dedication as well as the great IMSS teachers and parents who have supported their musical journey along the way.
Congratulations to you all! Katie Hardman, Music Specialist
PLEASE HELP THE WORMS
Calling all WES families!
We need some support to keep up our sustainability program going on the summer holidays. Are you staying in Mount Hawthorn? We need you! We need some families to look after our WES WORM Farms. You will need to feed the worms scraps and keep them cool. If you live close to the school it could be really easy. We feed our WORMS Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays ATM. We would love a team of local families and community members to help. Please see Mrs R (in Room 12) or email the school firstname.lastname@example.org Thanks so much for your support.
Bring in the new school year with the Annual Sundowner on Friday 26 February 2021.
Pack your picnic rug, some tasty beverages and some activities for the kids and make your way to the school oval.
We look forward to welcoming the school community to what will be a beautiful evening of food, drinks, friends and music.
Volunteers are needed so please keep an eye on socials over the school holidays to donate an hour or two of your time at this event.
OVAL FACE LIFT
After 5 years and many thousands of children enjoying the oval area, our grassed playing surface is getting a well-deserved renovation. Contractors will be working from Saturday 12 to 17 December scarifying and top dressing to rejuvenate the turf. The oval area will be closed to all until the start of Term 1 2021. Exclusion ropes and signage will be in place. Please help us by remaining off the grass until next year.
UNIFORM SHOP 2021
We will open on a day prior to the first day of school, on a date still to be decided.
Please check the P&C Social Media pages and Qkr in 2021 for the date.
