The P&C AGM will be held on Monday night and I would love to see as many parents as possible come along.
Over many years the P&C has always been very supportive, provided resources and set a strong tone of community involvement. If you come to the meeting there is no expectation that you will take on a role (but if you do it is not a job for life)!
It is about understanding what the P&C provide for our school, including a five day per week canteen, a uniform shop with affordable items, book club and school banking. These things set us apart from many other schools and parents volunteer when they can.
Importantly the P&C provides a lovely social group and a chance to meet other parents, contribute what you can and support our children in a great school community.
On Friday 13 March we will be calling for nominations for three parent representatives on our Schools Board, two from the Primary School and one from the Education Support Centre. If you would like more information about the role please contact the Primary School Principal Dale Mackesey, or John Siamos, the Board Chair, who would be happy to have an informal chat and provide additional details.
Nominations will close on Friday 20 March. If the number of nominations exceed the number of positions, an election will be conducted with ballots due by Friday 27 March 2020.
While media and public commentary in relation to Coronavirus (COVID-19) continues to raise concern, public health authorities are advising that the current risk remains low in Western Australia. They are monitoring the situation and we are acting on their advice to take any necessary precautions for schools and our staff. For the latest school information check our school website.
DR SEUSS IN YEAR 1
Room 4 and Room 12 have been learning all about Dr Seuss books. They are filled with fantastic nonsense words, rhyme and rhythm. His books have been helping kids like ours to read all over the world. We had a fantastic time presenting our Dr Seuss assembly to parents, teachers and children.
We spent lots of time learning our tricky lines and the song “Dr Seuss is on the loose”. Thank you to the mums and dads for making the amazing backdrop, your help is very much appreciated!

Don’t forget that this coming weekend is the Mountain Goat Mega Weekend! The Saturday fishing clinic is already filled up, but there is still the opportunity to join us at the Pirate Bar on Friday for Dad’s drinks and at Floreat Beach on Sunday for this year’s Beach Morning.
The Beach Morning is being run by Floreat SLSC and will take place at 8:30-11.00am, run by club coaches, and supervised by the U14 Cadets. The club will teach us a little about what being a surf life saver means, and run a series of age-appropriate activities for us on the beach and in the water. This will include flag races, relays, tug-o-war, rescues and much more. Dads, make sure you limber up, as we’ll all be expected to take part. If you’d like to come, please sign-up here. The price is only $5 per child.
We are very excited to announce that we have finally lined up our first guest speaker event, which will take place at Floreat Athena FC on Friday 8 May. More details will follow soon, but make sure you save the date!
Did you know that you can donate your old uniforms to the uniform shop? All proceeds from these sales go directly to the P&C. You can drop them at the Uniform shop from 2.00pm onwards on Tuesday afternoons or at the office reception any other time.
The first of the fair liaison meetings will be held at The Oxford on Wednesday 11 March at 7.30pm. Please come along, we will answer your questions. No fair rep yet? The class parent liaison might want to join this meeting so they can pass the info along.
