Remembrance Day Ceremony 2019

At Mount Hawthorn Primary School we place great emphasis on hosting and supporting commemorative ceremonies to recognise significant moments in history. The school service was well attended and our Student Councillors did us proud. Harrison F ( the recipient of the Marjorie Williams/ANZAC Cottage Bursary) spoke at the sunset service on Sunday at ANZAC Cottage. It is important that we educate our next generation to remember all those who have suffered or died while serving our nation.

Our ceremony was attended by representatives from the local RSL, City of Vincent Mayor Emma Cole and many parents and families and it was fantastic to welcome back ex-student Rohan D who played the bugle for us.

There is also a wonderful display and selection of books in the library and some lovely writing and artwork displayed in the classrooms.
