Wednesday 10 April 2019

On Wednesday 10 April the Mighty Mount Hawthorn swimming machine won the Interschool Carnival, and a Hat-Trick, three in a row. 2017-2018-2019 WOW! That means all our Interschool swimmers have won in every year they have competed.  Superstars!

Led by our awesome captains James and Leanne, we won the first event, the Super Relay, from the Year 5 and 6 fastest swimmers. The team followed up with so many podium finishers and PBs that Mount Hawthorn surged ahead against tough competition. As we went from Freestyle, to Breaststroke and Backstroke our lead continued to increase.

Some of the highlights that will inspire us for 2020 and beyond were:

Georgia in Year 4 and Sam in Year 5 achieving All Schools Champions and Harry as runner-up champion in Year 5, James winning the 200m by half a pool, the fantastic cheering from our reserves and all our awesome relays.

A big thank you to the Tuart Hill swimming coaches Sarah and our own alumni Nicola who attended on the day, all the parents for their invaluable support and assistance and a special thankyou to Mrs Putt for her wonderful organisation.

ADVANCE NOTICE TO ALL YEAR 3’s – Pass level 6 State Swim and plan to be a superstar in our Interschool swim team, Term 1 2020!
