Harmony Day

Year 6 Room 19 and Year 2 Room 7 Buddies

The Year 6 students from Room 19 made an ‘Everyone Belongs’ postcard for their Year 2 buddies in Room 7. They wrote about why Australia’s cultural diversity is a good thing and gave the postcard to their buddy and discussed this. They talked about their different cultural backgrounds and which countries their parents and grandparents were from, discovering that we are from many different places.

A group of Year 6 students wrote this Acrostic Poem about Harmony Day and created a Harmony Tree with flags from all their different heritages.

Harmony is..

Accepting

Religions

Making a difference

On a special day

No more racism

You. Be. You

Diversity

All together

Yes to equality
