The Disco on Friday night was a fantastic success, thanks to the Mountain Goat dads who were fantastic crowd control (and easy to identify in their red T-shirts), the wonderful DJ teachers and Sonia, Tracey, Scott and their team of hardworking P&C parents.
It was really pleasing to see our Year 6 students helping with the disco organisation and especially supporting the Kindy and ESC students on the night, demonstrating the inclusivity we are striving for and importantly they helped clean up at the end of the night.
There was a great vibe around the campus with parents enjoying a social chat and the kids had an awesome time. Unfortunately my hamstring was playing up so I was unable to show off my dance moves, however I’m looking forward to busting a move on the dance floor next year!
What a fantastic result – the total raised is $23,000! Thank you to all our amazing parents who supported this fundraising event.
Congratulations to all the prize winners:

Please remember not to bring dogs onto the school oval, especially on weekends, as our grounds committee is working hard to maintain the grass and doggie waste damages the turf.

The school will be holding a Remembrance Day Ceremony on Friday 9 November commencing at 9.00am. Over past years this ceremony has been low key compared with the ANZAC Ceremony. As this year is the 100th anniversary of the signing of the peace treaty that ended World War 1 in France, the school’s ceremony will incorporate more aspects. This will include the laying of flowers by two students from each year level. Any students who belong to a service group are encouraged to wear the uniform of the group. During the two weeks prior to the ceremony students are asked to donate a gold coin towards the purchase of a poppy. They will be given the poppy to wear on the morning of the ceremony.

During Term 3 and early in Term 4 all Year 2, 3 and 4 students were involved in the Musical Aptitude Indicator Test during their music lessons with Mrs Hardman and Mrs Smart. Results of the test, and consultation with classroom teachers regarding suitability for the IMSS program, have been considered in making students an offer in the program. Successful students will be notified today if they have been either short listed or received an offer.

This week, Pre-primary and Year One classes have been going to Beatty Park for swimming lessons. Beginner swimmers enjoy learning different skills each day such as blowing bubbles, floating on their backs and putting their heads under water. Other students are also learning to do big freestyle arms and trickier skills. For some students, it’s their first time riding on a bus which has been very exciting! Swimming lessons will continue until the end of Week 4.
