On Friday 9 November all students in Pre-primary to Year 6 at Mount Hawthorn Primary School (MHPS) and the Education Support Centre participated in a Remembrance Ceremony to mark the 100th anniversary of the end of WW1. Special invited guests included David Millar, the president of the RSL, John Carey MLA for Perth, Emma Cole Mayor City of Vincent and a several representatives from ANZAC Cottage. Rohan, an ex-student from MHPS very ably played the Last Post and Rouse, and fourteen specially selected MHPS students laid flowers at the ceremony.
On Sunday Year 6 student councillors Isobel, Ruby, Josie and Cassie and our ANZAC Bursary recipient Mia, represented the school at both the Axford Park and ANZAC Cottage Ceremonies. We are proud to work with our local community on such important occasions.
