Faction Athletics Update 2018

From Sue Kenny and Anita Putt

Incomplete Athletics Program Update

Due to another unpredictable week of weather we have had to make the following arrangements for the Year 3 to Year 6 Faction Hurdle Events (Events 104 – 113) program.

Weather permitting these events will be conducted in Year groups this Wednesday afternoon 5 September after lunch starting with Year 3 progressing to Year 6.

If the weather does not allow this to proceed, these events will be conducted around the school timetable over the next few days.

Presentation of Medals / Winning Faction will be presented on Friday 7 September at the Year 1 to Year 6 assembly in the old Undercover Area.

We have made the decision to amend the arrangements for the Faction Carnival due to the weather forecast.

A separate Pre-primary Carnival will be held on Thursday 6 September (planned back up day) with details to follow.

Faction Carnival Day

  • Thursday 30 August 2018
  • Menzies Park
  • Year 1 to Year 6

The Carnival Program has been amended as follows:

There will be a delayed start for Years 1- 6. Weather permitting the carnival will start at approximately 11.00am.

Both tracks will run simultaneously, however please be aware that due to the amended program track 2 may not run sequentially.

The expected finishing time will still be approximately 2.30pm.

Any unfinished events will be completed on Thursday 6 September, our planned back up day.

Students will have morning tea prior to departure. Please provide a packed lunch for your child/ren as we are unable to accommodate the shared lunch and there may not be a designated lunch break. Students will eat their lunch in the faction bays.

Presentation of Champions and winning faction shields will be held at the next full school Assembly and parents will be notified of this.

Please do not call the front office unless the matter is urgent.

We appreciate parents plan their day around this event, however these changes are necessary to ensure this event still proceeds.
