It was great to see so many parents at the P&C sundowner last Friday. This event reflects the great sense of community we enjoy in Mount Hawthorn with lots of picnic rugs, children running around, laughter and great food! Congratulations to the P&C for organising this wonderful event.
The new building program will commence on Thursday 1 March when the builders McCorkell Constructions take possession of the site. They have extensively briefed both schools about access and movement on the campus, especially for ESC and Pre-primary. All due diligence will be undertaken and the footbridge will still be in operation. Any demolition works will be conducted outside of school hours and in compliance with Government requirements. Ongoing information will be provided via the newsletter. If you require further details or have any concerns please feel free to contact myself or Associate Principal, Perisse Pitsikas at any time.

NAPLAN tests the sort of skills that are essential for every child to progress through school and life, such as reading, writing, spelling, grammar and numeracy. It is important to remember that NAPLAN is not about passing or failing, but about assessing learning progress. At the classroom level it is one of a number of important tools used by teachers to measure student progress.
For more information please read the NAPLAN brochure for parents.

Kindness comes in many different shapes and sizes
I’ve seen people stand up for their friends in need
Never be mean to a friend when they are in doubt
Dust off grazes when someone is injured
Nice friends always help
Every little act of kindness counts
Small acts can make someone’s day
Share a funny joke with a friend
