It has been a really smooth start to the school year with students settling into their new classes with sparkling new uniforms and some very on point haircuts. The feedback from teaching staff is that the classes are well balanced and have had a great start.
I would also like to welcome new families to the school community and our Year 5 Teacher Miss Zoe Dinsdale. I am starting to feel my age when staff members are around my eldest boy’s age.
The IPS Review has been signed off and presented to the Schools Board. The review will form the basis of the next phase of strategic planning, which has commenced with staff and the School Board. The review has been placed on the schools website and I encourage all parents to read through the findings.
The facilities and grounds are looking good and the final touches are being made to the enclose the undercover area. The project budget is over $110 000 and has been generously supported by the P&C. It was really unfortunate to see the vandalism that occurred over Christmas in the junior block and the associated costs of cleaning up and replacing carpets.
We have many volunteers who have continued working through the holidays and I would like to highlight the amazing work of the Uniform team led by Kat and Karen . Coordinating uniforms for over 800 students is a significant workload coupled with relocating the shop over the busiest time of the year for them. Through dust and paint they battled on and I know the community value their efforts.
