Principal Mount Hawthorn PS

Mr. Dale Mackesey will be recommencing as Principal MHPS at the beginning of term two. Mr. Mackesey is returning from his position as Principal Consultant Statewide Services and Mr. Jarman is returning to his position as Principal Yanchep Beach PS.

Mr. Jarman is very grateful for the opportunity to have been part of the MHPS community for six months and is especially thankful to Mr. Michael Jenkin, school admin team members, school board members, P&C Leaders, staff and the many smiley students for making him feel welcome and comfortable from day one.

Independent Public School Review change

During week 10 of this term Mount Hawthorn PS was to be reviewed by Department of Education Services (DES) as part of the regular triennial review. DES have reviewed the submitted data and opted to delay this review to later in 2017 when both the Education Support Centre and Primary School can be reviewed together as a cluster. This is a far better outcome for both sites and the cluster that is Mount Hawthorn as it reflects the genuine relationship that exists between both schools.

It is important to acknowledge the school board and staff leaders for their hard work in preparing for the review in week 10 of this term, their efforts will now prove significant comparative value to when the review is held later in 2017.
