MEDICAL PLANS

KISS AND DRIVE COMPETITION
We have had some very frightening situations involving traffic, students and parents.
Hopefully, the pen of a student will provide a different perspective and highlight the need for parents to cooperate with our incentive program.

Dear Parents
Hi I’m the Braithwaite Faction Captain, a student leader. The parents at Mount Hawthorn are one of our greatest allies, and you always do a brilliant job supporting our school. But lately our Kiss and Drive hasn’t been that great. Parents have been getting out of their cars to help their kids, this is very understandable, but is holding up the system and making a large line that goes around the corner and down Matlock Street. Parents have been parking their car, which again, creates the line.

A way to stop this is asking your kids to get out quickly, so you won’t have to wait long. Student Councillors will be coming to the classrooms and asking all students to please get to the Kiss and Drive quickly. Also, student leaders like me and the student Councillors will be giving out raffle tickets to the first few students who are getting to Kiss and Ride quickly and lining up well and the raffle will be drawn on Fridays and winners will be announced over the PA. Tickets will also be given to the parents who are using the Kiss and Drive correctly and the prize is your own parking space at the front of Admin to use for one week.

It is important to use our Kiss and Drive well, so we are courteous to Mount Hawthorn’s neighbours and the kids are safe. Thank you for your cooperation, and remember please to be patient at Kiss and Drive.  See you around school, Josie

SURVEYS
School Survey was developed by Education Services Australia (ESA) on behalf of the Australian Government Department of Education. We have recently surveyed students from Year 5 and 6 and parents using this School Survey, and the results will be presented to the School Board and published in a future newsletter.

NEIGHBOURHOOD WATCH
We have experienced quite a bit of vandalism around the school on weekends recently. If you see anyone on the school campus damaging the school property after hours we would appreciate a call to School Security Ph: 9264 4632 or 9264 4711

WOOLWORTH’S EARN AND LEARN
Our focus and target his year is to redeem points to boost our literacy and numeracy resources in our Early Years (K-2)
It’s simple to participate. From Wednesday, 15 July to Tuesday, 8 September 2015, when our staff, parents or community members shop at Woolworths they can collect Woolworths Earn & Learn Stickers from the checkout operator or through an online order and place them on a Woolworths Earn & Learn Sticker Sheet. There’ll be one Woolworths Earn & Learn Sticker for every $10 spent (excluding liquor, tobacco, and gift cards). Once completed, simply place the Sticker Sheet in the Collection Box, either at your school or at your local Woolworths. Our collection boxes are located in front office, the Pre-primary block and Kindergarten at Richmond Street. In support of our regional schools there is also a collection box for Cadoux Primary School at The Mezz for your sticker contributions.
