Vincent Council has awarded the tender for the design and construction of a nature play area designed for 10-14 year olds at Braithwaite Park in Mount Hawthorn.
In response to community desires for more children’s and parks facilities, earlier this year the City proposed a nature play area with a water element for the popular park.
Just like the (almost complete) Oxford Reserve nature playground in Leederville, the Braithwaite nature play area is built around the philosophy of nature based elements (eg: log steppers, cubby houses, ropes, plants, obstacles, musical or water elements, etc).
There are huge benefits for kids! Works are likely to commence August 2014 and should be complete by October this year.
