Volunteers

The school canteen, located in the Undercover area is open every school day (unless advertised otherwise) for recess and lunch and promotes healthy nutrition for all our students and teachers.

Food is homemade, wherever possible, and when food is brought in ready-made we check the ingredients carefully. These foods must adhere to our low additive policy and we eliminate all additives and preservatives as much as possible. The chicken nuggets are a good example of this, as they contain no “nasties” whatsoever.

All students from Pre-primary to Year 6 and teachers can enjoy the healthy foods that our school canteen has to offer. We would like to encourage the new parents in our school to visit the canteen and if there are questions about the foods available please come and see a member of the canteen staff. Our canteen acknowledges the Traffic Light Policy but in addition we have implemented a low additive policy.

Forgotten Lunches: Your child will be offered a sandwich eg ham/cheese/vegemite. A note will be sent home with your child and payment would be appreciated a.s.a.p.

Late lunch orders: The canteen is very busy and we will do our best to offer a lunch to all the children.

Orders

There are two options for ordering:

Online – register at Our Online Canteen to place your order up to two weeks in advance. Orders must be placed by 9:00am.
In person – Fill in a school lunch paper bag and take it to the canteen before 9:00am. You can pre-order if you know you are going to be late. You can also buy 25 bags for $1 to have and fill in at home to save time!

Volunteers

The Canteen staff need help making sandwiches, preparation and baking of the famous milo cookies, some other easy food prep and – most importantly – counter service over recess and lunch.

The canteen roster is only 1 ½ hours per session, with three sessions available per day. Helping in the canteen is a fun and a fantastic way to see your kids as they go about their school day or do their assembly practice.
